Most Democrats want to raise your taxes, but they're usually smart enough to lie about it.
"Read my lips, no new taxes." (and then he raised them). "Let's tell the truth. Mr. Reagan will raise taxes, and so will I. He won't tell you. I just did." "Your taxes will be at the level they were at under President Clinton."
So basically Democrats have a better track record of honesty on tax increases. Bush jr. has lowered taxes, but mainly for the wealthy with token refunds for working families. I guess your point is that it's better to lie and win, then be honest and lose?
