Thought you guys might like to know this is out on DVD. It's a 3 disc set, the complete first season. I saw it at Hollywood when I stopped in after work. I actually missed it on my first pass through the new releases. Once I got off the phone I noticed a whole lot of stuff out that I didn't know was out.
Even though I didn't care for X-Files, I loved Lone Gunmen. I'm seriously thinking of getting it. Just remembered I need to tell my sister and brothers about that.
Thank Gob! Finally all five people who watched the show can watch it again.
Someone should look up those people and write their names down, btw...
maybe invite them to a gathering using thaty very list. this list needs a name, and it should be official!
Guest you're right bsams!
Oh LOL I misspelled guess. Let's use that comical error to name our invention.
I wonder if they'll release the pilot episode where government agents try to crash a plane into the WTC.
no joke.
That's like the ever fun 'Independence Day' (as in the movie) playset that came with colapsing World Trade Towers. We're never going to see shit like that again....pitty.
I found this bit interesting. I didn't know the ratings were (that) good. I thought they weren't very good, which was why it was cancled.
Quote:
The cancellation of the show is considered by many to be somewhat mysterious, as its ratings were in fact higher than the first-season ratings of X-Files.
Of course the ratings were higher than the first season of X-Files -- all the X-Files fans were watching it, and there were obviously more fans by that time than there were in the first season. It took a while for X-Files to establish an audience, and it had more of a cult status before it became popular.
Did the first season of the X Files have high ratings? Maybe the only reason it didn't get cancelled was that the station recognized the potential, like with Seinfeld. With Lone Gunmen, there's no potential to recognize...
Perhaps since it was cancelled someone might be kind enough to write a eugoogley on it's passing?
