ANCHORAGE, AK (KTVA/CNN) - While doing a news segment on a medical marijuana organization, reporter Charlo Greene made an interesting exit from her position at a CBS affiliate.
Greene revealed she owns the Alaska Cannabis Club she was reporting on and then quit her TV gig with a choice word live on the air.
"Now everything you've heard is why I, the owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, will be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska," Greene said. "As for this job, well, not that I have a choice but (expletive) it, I quit."
KTVA's news anchor apologized before going to break.
The ex-reporter told the Alaska Dispatch News her dramatic exit was her attempt to bring attention to the issue of marijuana legalization and apologized for offending anyone.
After Greene's on-air outburst, KTVA apologized profusely, on air and off.
"We sincerely apologize for the inappropriate language used by a KTVA reporter during her live presentation on the air tonight," the station's news director said in a statement. "The employee has been terminated."
