DC has canceled the following Showcase collections -

• SHOWCASE PRESENTS: CAPTAIN CARROT VOL. 1

• SHOWCASE PRESENTS: THE GREAT DISASTER FEATURING THE ATOMIC KNIGHTS AND HERCULES VOL. 1

• SHOWCASE PRESENTS: THE SUICIDE SQUAD VOL. 1

• SHOWCASE PRESENTS: SECRET SOCIETY OF SUPER VILLAINS VOL. 1 TP

Read this at CBR and was like "WTF??!!".Mostly because they were just solicited recently and the fact that Suicide Squad & Secret Society are held as some of the best from DC in the 70's & 80's.As these are books I've never read,as with a lot of the Showcase offereings,I like paying a little money for a lot of stories without digging through back-issue bins.Supposedly these are to be re-solicited later but I haven't heard for sure.
Hope they do reschedule these even though I've got the originals some where. Having them collected in one volume makes for easier reading.

There is a theory that the rescheduling has something to do with royalties but I think DC would have considered that before scheduling these.
DC had a different royalties scheme for stuff published in the mid-70's to '92. It's why they ran unrelated reprints to finish off the first JONAH HEX Showcase. That's known fact.

The theory you speak of is that they're making these solicits to gauge the demand for these particular Showcases; ergo, whether the demand meets the higher royalties associated with collecting these runs. CAPT. CARROT and SUICIDE SQUAD? Probably can. The others? Not so much.

Who knows this?!?!?!
I think they are just shifting some of the archive material up because those volumes were taking longer than planned..hence sgt rock and supergirl.
