Hey Llancey,
you forget I still pop in here once in a while!
That avatar is pretty cool isn't it-- Dean took a pic of me and manipped it up something swell!
Don't know anything 'bout them changing the rules, but practically from day one they've been making tweaks and changes to improve the site. This indeed may be something they have decided to change.
And it is true, a bit of 5 o'clock stubble-- 10 o'clock even-- doesn't bother me a bit. As you can see over there, I only shave about 3 days a week.
*sigh* Well it is a shame the NBz and LMB got off on the worng foot. When it comes down to it really, we're VERY similar groups...

Well, I don't think there was ever a problem with posting pics of you in general, LLance. I think they just didnt want the particular pic you posted the other day there.
I'm sure that nice smiling pic you're using as an avatar here would be perfectly acceptable.
I myself don't understand the strange fascination some seem to have with posting their pics on the internet, but what can you do?
And *sigh* is right, Lashie.

Personally, I don't even think the problem was ever so much the pic itself. I think it was actually cute the first couple of time I saw it. However, once I had seen it, like, 500 times, the novelty had worn off a bit :)
It's like a guy at work that started saying "How YOU doin'?" when he would see you. It was funny the first few times. However, after like a year, it's really just become tedious.

So...who do I have to actually talk to get back on-line at Legion World? I mean can anyone blame me for posting the pic when there's a rule saying you can't post the pic? It's like telling a bull NOT to charge at the red cape! Now that the rule is gone I would no longer be compelled to post the pic but I might make a lot of <sic> references to it! Actually I would like to post my dancing pic from my wedding night! It's a thinner and even cuter LLance in a tux doing some very weird disco step. I'll have to find the wedding album and post it somewhere on my off days this week. :) Stubble stubble boil and bubble Give MLLASH a man w/ 5:00 stubble I bet you'd just like to rub your...hmmm, might be little ones reading right now...better not finsh that line! ![[wink]](images/icons/wink.gif) And yes the avatar is way cool! I myself don't understand the strange fascination some seem to have with posting their pics on the internet, but what can you do?I agree especially when they're as butt ugly as I am. You might not realize this Eryk but Franta has always posted these pics from our various Nature Boys/WizardWorld Cons and Rob has supported his infringement of my rights by allowing said pics and actually making said LLance avatar. I've only went with the flow and either posted the pics by utilizing the "Quote" or "Copy" function. This infringement of my rights is now a sizzling topic on this thread... http://www.robkamphausen.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=9;t=002885;p=1#000010...feel free to lend me your support! I agree with what you're saying Princess but I had to save face...even if it's a butt ugly face ![[whaaaa!]](eek01.gif) it was all mine! Finally...does anyone have a copy of the Silver Age Adventure comic featuring Krypton's Civil War(w/ the Legion)? I really really really want a good or better copy of this book at a decent price as I've been lusting over this book for a few weeks now on about the same level MLLASH lusts after cute guys exposing their stubble! It must be mine...soon!

Ugh! My copy of Adventure 333 is in saaaaad shape, Llancey. Got it as part of a lot in supposedly Good+ condition off eBay-- it's actually Fa/G-, with alot of wear to the cover (bitch of it being, it's one of those covers with the infamous black background! ![[you sunnuva...]](images/icons/mad.gif) ). I was happy enough with the rest of the lot, so whatcha gonna do? But I feel for ya. I need 14 Adventure issues before 321 I need to finish the Legion run, and if it's affordable, it's trashed... ![[no no no]](graemlins/nono.gif)

iirc, Llance-- that issue is available as a reprint in the 4-issue early 70s LSH reprint title.
Prolly cheaper than the original...?

Thanks but I'll hold out for an original. I don't remember it being reprinted then but my memory is so crappy. I probably have that issue stashed somewhere in my collection!

I want it to be at least 2 steps above trashed but I do feel for you as well. I really didn't recall the book until a few weeks ago when I came across it on e-bay. A decent copy that I was outbid on! I'm sure someone at Legion World is reading MY book even as I type!

I've got the JLA Archives run up to number 7 or 8 and while I've enjoyed it there's nothing like having an original and seeing the ads and reading the letters and, on rainy days, reading the small fine print on the first page! Of course I haven't hit the lottery yet and Archives are so Bitching out on the coffee table! Company comes over and asks what kind of freak I am and I just smile and tell them to click on Legion World if they really want to see me at my silliest and that my user name is Eryk Davis Ester!
So...archives or original? May I have a vote?

Well, I say a good mixture of both.
I decided I had too much stuff in my LSH; I had 8 volumes of LSH archives plus most of the original silver-age issues reprinted therein.
So I decided to sell the original issues in favor of the archives.
I eBay'ed my Legion collection up to S/LSH 197 (couldn't bear to part with those Cockrum issues).
And I recently bought LSH Archive 10 which contains the Cockrum-drawn SUPERBOY issues that I sold so I'm completely back up to par, got a nice chunk of change AND reduced the mass of my Legion collection.

Hey, I've been identified as and alt-ID of half the other posters on the board at one time or another... it probably wouldn't be too hard to start the "EDE is LLance" rumor!
Incidentally, did you see my thread at Legion World that copies the old Bits o' Legionnaire Business columns?
Bits o' Legionnaire Business
I can't help but think that if Matthew Maynard of Seattle, Washington's suggestion of Nature Boy had been made a Legionnaire, a lot of ugliness would have been avoided... ![[sad]](images/icons/frown.gif)

[i]EL LASS - she can give super-powers to anyone whose initials are L.L.[;/i]
Ooh! My kind of girl!
Too bad I can't participate since the short-minded overseers at Legin World have decided to ban me for taking my rightful retribution against them!

My name saw print in Bits of Legionairre business once but not for suggesting a hero but as having written a letter that did not see print. It was probably the latter part of the 60's so the Adventure letter column link you have probably hasn't reached that point. I scanned through it and did not see it...yet! :) Any members of Legion World have their name printed in a Legion book? Huh? Huh? Huh?
