I find that hard to believe seeing as how the Daleks have finally been used in original Doctor Who BBC novels. The amount of money the BBC would make off the Dalek episodes alone would be worth whatever compansation Terry would want!
Did anyone see that Dr.Who thing they did a few years ago with that McGann fella as the Doc? I only saw a few minutes & it didnt look like Dr.Who to me!

Great Doctor. Horrible script. They basically threw in a bunch of Who nostalgia for no other reason than nostalgia. The TARDIS looked pretty cool. McGann, as I said, did a good job; and I'd like to see more of his Doctor. But who in the hell cast Eric Roberts as the Master?

They did have to pay Terry Nation every time they used Daleks, and he insisted on writing the scripts for quite some time. But I think he finally sold the rights since they were only good for Doctor Who, and he couldn't make them work on their own. Rumor has it that Grant/Naylor Productions picked them up.
well, as i said, it's just a rumour i heard. i hope its wrong.
