so, have any of you ever tried any form of narcotic? experimented in college? posting with a buzz? sampled some pot, cracked the rock? anything?

never.

So far....starting second year in college...a little drinking but never drunk. I feel no need to experiment in narcotics, I like being in full control of my body. I also find cigerette smoking, though perfectly legal, to be somewhat...tacky I suppose for a girl my age.

I smoke alot of pot. I 'm high pritty much all the time.

I guess I'm one in a million cause I keep my shit together. I didn't end up some brain dead stoner.

But I guess there is still time though.

I've tried some others.

Nothing considered extremly hard core.

No coke, crack, heroine etc.

I dropped acid twice.

Once was wonderfull.

The next time made me never want to do it again.

I ate shrooms a few times that was fun. Only tripped really hard once on them.

I smoked dust a few times, and only a few.

Untill the time I smoked some pot in a bowl that a bunch of dust had been smoked in and got so "dusted" I thought I was going to die.

Popped a few painkillers and smoked some crumbled up and mixed with pot.

I smoked hash, pots cousin.

I may have done some other small shit I don't recall but nothing major.

Pot is my drug of choice.

One of my major deciding factors in my never fathering any children.

Sometimes I wonder if thats why my apartment is still filled with action figures, and comic books.

I love them too.

I work my ass off to remain a teenager at home.

Thats what I want.

That's what makes me happy.

I'm not stupid enough to do or try drugs for that matter. I more or less ended a 20 year friendship with someone because of it. The friendship's on hold but I've only talked to this person twice since I told her to call me when she grew up. I didn't know it at the time, but there were several times I'd get in the car with her, only for her to be driving while high. Looking back at it, I can now see when those times were and I don't appreciate other people driving like idiots and putting my life in danger when I'm in the car with them.

I don't drive.

I have a phobia.

that must be exhausting.

I have good shoes.

I must admit, I'm truly shocked. I never would have pegged Jaburg for a pothead.

I don't do anything regularly, but there isn't a whole lot I haven't tried(outside of the uber-hardcore stuff). I went to a school filled with rich white kids, and at least half them came to class stoned every morning. They could afford to. They'd toke up before hand, and toke up immediately after. Drugs were pretty accessible; one of my best friends was a dealer, infact(I say was as he's currently living on the street somewhere downtown completely off his rocker).

The two main reasons I don't do them much anymore are:

1.I'm not stupid, I've seen enough of my friends piss away their lives before the age of 20 to know the consequences of such.

2.There's very little chance I could get away with it. My parents don't drink or smoke(no coverup possibilities), and they were pretty heavy users back in the 60s and 70s, so they'd know exactly what to look for.

In case anyone was wondering, yes, I was being sarcastic about Jaburg.

In my youth, i've done mostly hallucogenics. I've done marijuana, LSD, and exstasy.

And of course alchohol.

And no, recreational drugs do not lead to hard drugs. Unless of course you're already prone to addiction, which i'm not. I used them when I was young and now I don't. End of story.

I'm not averse to taking a puff or a hit of E if the circumstances warrant it such as a festival tent. But it's not something that drives me or is even wanted or craved.

Right now as I type, i'm high on alchohol (cranberry juice & vodka) after coming out from the Libertines gig at the El Rey Theatre. They were mysteriously without a lead singer. Amazingly, it wasn't too bad regardless.

Only the booze for me. Never even tried a cigarette. I feel no need to see if I enjoy something I know I don't want to do. I feel no need to smell crap, live in a yellow home that stinks or poison those around me.

I'd probably try pot but I'm capable of uncontrolable laughter and incessant snacking without it. It's never been it's legal status that stopped me, particularly now that it's barely illegal in the UK and the punishment for getting caught with it is next to fuck all.

Anything harder? Nah, bollocks to that. I've seen get fucked up. I'm happy with my little alcohol hypocracy.

Booze is pretty much all I do. There's a saying around the house, "Beer makes everything better," which I admit isn't always a good thing.

I was very asthmatic as a kid, so smoking, anything, didn't seem to be such a smart idea to me when I got older. As far as acid goes, I'd had an allergic reaction to some medication when I was a kid that caused me to hallucinate. Walls were are wobbly. My depth perception was gone. Everything was really freaky. This might be cool for someone in their teens; but for a 6 year-old, it sucks. And prescription meds, such as pain killers, just never came across to me as something that'd be fun to do in my spare time.

To sum it up, beer pretty much does all the things I need it to do.

Since everone's mentioned alcohol, I'll own up to it. I drink very rarly these days, wasn't much of a drinker prior to getting sick. I've never had so much alcohol that I've gotten a buzz or even drunk.

for roughly the first 21 years of my life, i was straight-edge. i wasn't the hard core type that fought with smokers, or anything -- most of my high school, close friends included, was into the small stuff; cigarettes, then alcohol, then pot, then acids, etc.

but, i chose not to do anything. id still go to all the parties and the clubs and the hangouts and the "super secret pot smoking in the basement" sessions, i just wouldn't do it. no big deal to me.

its a good character builder, being the only not-high guy in a room full of drunkards and pot heads, and still getting the attention and/or the laughs.

in retrospect, i probably should have just tried a bunch of the stuff. i didn't get anything or win any awards because i didn't do them, nor did (most of) those who did do them get into any serious trouble.

but, whatcha gonna do.

for the record, i did have some beers and a few cigarette drags in those early, supposed-to-be-straight-edge years. i'm mostly german/irish, after all.

and, im sure, in all my nights of non-drug drug-partying, i've had some contact highs. it'd be impossible not to. thats probably why it was so easy to avoid doing, cuz i was always doing it.

once you get to college, you start to realize the social power booze and pot and cigarettes have. you could know no one, and yet, if you smoke, there's someone else outside to talk to. if you're a drinker, you're always offered a beer somewhere. and if you're drunk or high, its always easy to talk to others.

still, for the most part during the first few years of college, i was able to hold on to the "not-gonna-do-it" attitude. i had a huge grouping of friends and they didn't really care what i did one way or another. i was still able to go out with everyone and make them all laugh and whatever. and college girls are easy to get, with or without the drugs

starting around my junior / senior year of college is when the drinking kicked in big time. we'd have 10 and 20 drink nights, starting in one dorm room, ending up at a bar in another town, and making 50 stops at other places along the way.

beer, ciders, rum n'cokes, everclear jungle juice, tequilla shots, the airplane bottles of citron in class... whatever it took.

but, to this point, nothing harder.

i've always had an interest in smoking. i'm one of those stereotypes that actually does think it looks cool. sure, thats wrong and stupid, and the smell pretty awful, but... man, cigarettes are so neat looking! and whats a big tough guy without a cigar??

i've also always wanted to be addicted to something, just to know what its like to be addicted to it, and to see if i could beat it. will power kinda thing.

ecstacy had its appeal. i have an interest in trying pot. i think it stinks like all hell, but... whatever. and, ever since i found out from documentaries and such what lsd and other hallucinogens do to you, i've wanted to try them. "what do you mean you can see colors that don't exist?!?!" ... i just wanna know what thats like.

bottom line, tho i haven't done anything (major), i have no real aversion towards trying them. disclaimer: i know what the reprecussions are, and i'm old enough to make my own decisions. no one is forcing me to do anything, and i'm not even saying that i will do any of them.

It fucks your brain up so bad the feeling is indescibable to anyone else who has never done the shit.

i didn't mean to indicate it was small stuff (same could be said for booze!). i was just illustrating the progression from level to level, as well as noting that they were smaller, in comparison to say, cocaine.

Oh, The second time I "tripped" was my last because of my visuals.

No to mention they pack some speed into it just to keep you on your toes.

Lets see I also saw bathroom tiles do a whole kalidescope thing, specks in a marble floor swim around like tadpoles.

My "good trip" my friends took me all the way to meet some other people at SUNY Purchase then dragged my "Tripping" ass down to the Galleria in White Plains.

On a sunday two weeks before christmas.

Freaky shit.

I stayed the fizzuck away from coke and those who did it.

Smoked my first joint in 1971 and never looked back.

I didn't want ANYONE tellin’ me not to do something they NEVER did so I did everything.

Well almost. No crack, crank or amphetamines. Never really like the sped up feeling of cocaine although it didn’t stop me till I started to show up at “friends” houses and found them barricaded in their shitty run down apartments behind triple locked doors surrounded by big piles of uncut blow and large caliber handguns…

Snorted Heroin once.

Barfed all over my shirt.

I tried steroids once ........I didn't like them......they gave me pimples on my ass. You can't have a Vince McMahon Kiss My Ass Club with pimples on your ass.....then again that might not be such a bad idea. Oh and last night Trish Sable Torrie and I snorted Cocaine and then fucked all night long......It's good to be the King.

I've never tried drugs unless you consider weed a drug.......but I do stick my dick into every girl that asks me to.

I've tried, sold, toked, huffed, puffed, snorted, dropped, eaten, dosed, and burned different drugs. But I've never injected (I hate needles)

Never done drugs cuz I'm fizzucked up enough as it is. I don't need a hallucinogen to make me see purpleorange butterfly's fizzuckin on my glass of water. I already see it. I drink like a mad mother fizzucker though, but since we don't count that it doesn't matter. I've only smoked two cigarettes in my life, out of curiosity. I guess I'm gifted though cuz I didn't cough once. Just puffed and blew it out my nose like it was no biggie. But I haven't done any since then because I don't "get" the deal with them. Plus they're costly and I need beer money.

I'm a straight edge who has seen enough junkies to remind me how fortunate I am. When I see someone so smashed that they laugh at anything that moves, or have visine evening eyes, or have trouble walking to the parking lot cause they keep circling back to the bar, etc etc etc, I can only say "I'm SOOOOOOO jealous! I want some of that!" But then again, I am biased and wouldn't have it any other way.

I've also had enough people try to explain what I'm missing out on, and in the process they prove my point even further. They honestly believe they can succeed where others have failed. I just don't know what I'm missing, do I?

Why anyone would ever want to know what it's like to be addicted to something is beyond me. That's like wanting to know what it's like to have your arm cut off. Honestly, that's what withdrawal feels like, only the sensation lasts much, much longer.
