In my physics class, eons ago, we were told that high heeled shoes were banned from early airplanes.

It seems that the narrow heels, with the weight of a person behind them, supposedly came down with enough force to punch through the thin fiberglass the weight-sensitive planes were made of.

This was followed by caculating the pounds per square inch exerted by an x size heel on a woman who weighed y pounds.

Thinking of this, my UL raidar went off. Has anyone else heard this? Can anyone prove or disprove this?
