I'm running Windows 98, and I'm trying to get rid of this fucking heretofind.com hi-jacker/pop-up/spy-ware bullshit. I want to Disable System Restore so it won't re-load the info onto my machine, but I can't find out where to Disable System Restore function. Can anyone familiar with Win98 point me in its direction? Thanks.

Dont know nuttin about no system restore. I'd just get Ad-Aware and run that sucker. Usually gets those fuckers off my machine pretty decently. In fact I should run that shit right now.

Also, look in your ad/delete programs for things like "my searchbar". Most of the time the browser hijacks install themselves on your computer without your permission.

I have Ad-Aware Personal SE, Spyboy S&D, and Yahoo! Anti-Spy, already... I use them once or twice a week, but they can't find or get rid of this heretofind.com shit.

It's not on my add/delete programs, either.

Check out that link I just posted. There are a lot of people there who can help.

If you really want to be adventurous, you can run a "search" on your C drive for all of the programs that you have used recently. If something looks odd, you can delete it, but you better be sure you know what you're doing.

GIANT Spyware is pretty good. It deleted some shit Ad-Aware and Spybot didn't even detect.
