I wanna see them do this for some of their other GA titles. I can't afford $50 for the hardbound DC Archives (or even the $25ish ones I see on eBay)

When they first announced this a couple months ago, they said if this does well, they will start more, probably with superman.

Cool.
Too bad I already own the "Batman" & "Dark Knight" archives that collect these stories, or I'd buy this.

I’m really looking forward to this. I wouldn’t pay the prices for those hardback editions, but this I will definitely buy.

Will these be in color, or black and white like Marvel's Essentials books?

yeah i prefered the solicted cover, still for $14.99 or the near $25 Canadian i'll be paying for it. it definately seems worth while. while the archives put the material out in a classy package they can also be somewhat cost prohibitive for the average byer. puttimg the material out in a cheaper format for the average fan is a great idea and i hope that marvel follows suit and DC does this with some more characters.
does anyone know the frequency that these will be coming out at?

I like a lot of the Golden Age concepts of characters. Batman and Superman especially. Back in the day when it was okay to kill crooks and beat up abusive husbands. I'll be looking for this.

i got this, the cover was coser to the solicited version which was cool and it was only $20 Canadian, not $25 which is really cool since it means that i have an extra $5 for April 2nd.
reading through some of this is interesting. there's an obvious wealth of ideas and creativity here that make is easy to look past the rough artwork and somewhat stilted diolague. nevertheless it's easy to see why Batman caught on the way he did and reading these stories it's fascinating to see all the elements of what is 60 odd years later "the Batman legend" take shape.

I was really excited about this, till I got it in my Westfield shipment last week. Piece O' Crap! Some of the shittiest paper ever. Reminded me of the rushed "Death In The Family" TPB that DC put out to capitalize on the death of Jason Todd. Trade format with regular newsprint. It just felt like I got ripped off. If DC continues to use the same paper on these books, I'll drop 'em...
Get the fuck out!

Hmm. I'm interested in reading these old stories, but if they're charging a bomb on shitty paper (a la the Authority tpbs) then I might pass.

I don't know why anyone would get overly upset about old stories like this being reprinted on shitty paper for $15.0 American. After all, they were designed to be, and were, printed on shitty paper in the first place.

Yesh, but over here its the same price as a regular tpb printed on good paper. Don't ask me why its not cheaper, because I don't know.

Why isn't it cheaper, Dave?
