Cinderella Man

Set in New York during the Depression, this is the story of James Braddock (Crowe), who takes up boxing to make money to feed his family, and ends up becoming quite famous in the process, eventually going up against champ Max Baer.

Just another 'can we get an oscar over here' mellow drama from the looks of it. This is a rental for those nights when everything else is checked out.

I'm actually looking forward to it... but then, I'm a sucker for movies like this. Personally, I'm hoping it'll feature another great Crowe performance (see also A Beautiful Mind) and a halfway decent Zelwegger performance (let's face it, you can't ask her for much more). Plus, Paul Giamatti is in it and, to be frank, that man is a genius...

But Zely has gotten sooooooooooo ugly and aged looking Chewy. I don't know what happened! One day, she's super cute and the next.......woah!

But Beautiful Mind totally rocked, I LOVED that movie! Crowe did an outstanding job!

Women age, damnit! Sorry they can't all conform to your magazine cover ideal. That's why women wear makeup and perfume, because they're ugly and they stink!

To be fair, I never said she wasn't. I just said that the best we would be able to expect from her is a decent performance. Personally, she's never been my type... though I did enjoy the movie Chicago...

Remember how battered Rocky's face was by the end of Rocky? Well, when I watched Cinderella Man I couldn't help but be reminded of that every time I looked at Renee Zelwegger's puffy mug.

Oh, I get it, you're refering to spouse abuse while I was just refering to the naturally distorted look of Zelwegger's ugly puss. Yea, every now and then I have to go on a rampage through my stable of hos with the heel of my shoe.

If they're assassins, can we do a movie where we hire them to kill the President and then call the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith Go To Washington?
