I know I'm biased.....I'm a Nets fan, but come on this team doesn't belong in the playoffs. They take so many freakin bad shots and 3 pointers. They are a joke! Discuss. ![[you sunnuva...]](images/icons/mad.gif)

I agree, can't stand the Celtics. Softer than even the Mavericks, live and die by the 3, 2 guys trying to win everything by themselves, just no fun to watch. They got into the second round because Indiana's in such disarray, but they'll be dropped soon so there's nothing to worry about.

It's funny you mentioned the Mavericks....one of my co-workers is a huge Celtics fan and he also raves about the Mavericks. I keep telling him neither team is that good but he doesn't want to hear it. Besides the way Tim Duncan and company are playing nobody will beat the Spurs. ![[eh?]](images/icons/confused.gif)

That was until Friday night when those damn Lakers won. I'm not a big fan of the Spurs(since they beat the Suns) but I'm cheering for any team that can topple the evil Lakers empire!!! ![[mwah hwah haa]](graemlins/devil.gif)

Game's 3 and 4 in lA were such bullshit, as far as the officails went. the Lakers got around 20 more free throw attemtps each game thanks to Phil Jackson's bitching and complaining. Same thing happened to the King's last year in Game 6. Anyone remember Kobe elbowing Bibby in the face and Bibby getting called for the foul?

Okay, can we dispense with the "suck" mentality? Nobody sucks. It's bad sportsmanship to say that any team "sucks", even if they're not having a good year. Please, let's everyone just try to get along, okay? There's enough hatred in the world without us creating more.

On a similar topic, what does everyone here think of the Antoine Walker sitituation that went down in game 3? If you don't know, a fan was heckling him all game, and 'supposedly' Walker made some kind of contact with him, maybe shoved him. Their wasn't enough evidence to prove it, so Walker wasn't fined or suspended. Personally, I think the fan got what was coming to him. No way that fan would have said what he said to Walker (whatever it was) if he bumped into him on a street in Boston.

For future reference, if I ever say an athlete "sucks" I certainly don't mean it. I'm not one of those guys who pretends he could've gone out in front of thousands of people and played better than the guy he's putting down. I agree with you that nobody actually sucks(except Kaufampshen during his brief tennis career), so usually I refrain from saying it.

The Celtics beat the Pacers, I think that qualifies them for "nonsuckhood".
As for the Mavs, sorry, but soft teams don't advance to the Western Conference Finals.

Celics beating the Pacers didn't impress me.....that's just me. Mavs beating Kings without Webber didn't impress me much either......however what they did to the Spurs in Game 1 was pretty damn impressive. If they keep it up they'll win it all. ![[woooOOOOoooo!]](graemlins/smilewoo.gif)

I actually stopped watching the playoffs the moment Webber went down. So I don't know how Allas actually won in San Antonio...they were a soft team last I saw... ![[gulp!]](gulp.gif)

I know what suck is. I watched the Mavericks play during the horror that was the mid 90s. They sucked. The Celtics, they're not the best team out there(and they made some terrible offseason moves), but they don't "suck".

Oh you're absolutely right......That's why I said I'm biased. I hate them so I couldn't give an honest evaluation. I do believe if the Mavs keep playing the way they did the other night they'll win it all......let's see what happens tonight. ![[woooOOOOoooo!]](graemlins/smilewoo.gif)

If the refs let them play, the Spurs are gonna win this series, because Dallas is soft. Their series with the Blazers proved that, and their only in the Conference Finals because Webber went down. I think even they know that.

I don't think they're better than the Spurs, but I don't think they're soft, either. The Blazers are the most talented team in the NBA, they're just the most inconsistent as well.
Joker, if you had watched the Kings/Mavs series in Game 5, you would have seen something I've never seen the Mavs do; play hard defense. Again, I don't think the Mavs will beat the Spurs, but I do think they've grown as a team, and I think they showed that in Game 5. They've learned from their mistakes. If they hadn't, they wouldn't be where they are right now.

I did watch some of that series, and they did play better defense than they normally do..helped that Webber was sitting on the bench though. I think if he were healthy, Kings would have won that series in 5 or 6.
You hear what Van Exel said? Something like 'We got this game stolen from us, and it had nothing to do with what the Spurs did' basically blaming the loss on the refs. Guess he forgot that they sent Dallas to the line 50 times in game 1, basically handing them that game. When Nelson got his 2 technicals and was tossed (his own damn fault for being stupid), the Spurs were up 15-14 with under 5 to go in the quarter. The score at the end of the quarter was 35-24. Mavs have no one to blame but themselves.

Guess you forgot that in that same game the Spurs went to the line 48 times. So it went both ways. The difference was, the Mavs made their free throws(98%), but the Spurs couldn't shoot worth shit(64%).

Actually, it was 22-16 when he was ejected.
As for the ejection itself....well, I didn't think it was terribly crafty of Nellie(and I've never been the biggest fan of his coaching skills, as opposed to his scouting and general magagement skills), but Joey Crawford was being a dick. Even Van Gundy and Mike Fratello(who never agree), agreed that it was unecessary on Crawford's part. Not that I'd say that was an excuse, the Mavs still didn't play well enough to win.
Regardless, what's your point? You're calling the Mavs soft because they didn't beat the Spurs twice in San Antonio?

My point was that Van Exel needed to shut his mouth and concentaret on game 3. You're right about the first game though..the Spurs blew that one at the line. I just thought it was crazy the amount of fouls that were called period. And New Jersey has a shot, but I don't think it's a good one. Better than last year, but still not that great.
