I was listening to a shuffle this morning and one of the songs that popped-up was Nancy Griffith's cover of the Julie Gold song From a Distance, the unofficial song of the Gulf War 1. It occurred to me there is no song of Gulf War 2. Have I missed it or has no body of music emerged from this experience?

If there are none, can anyone think of music to associate with the current conflict?

I thought the unofficial song of Gulf War 1 was Lee Greenwood's "Proud to be an American"

Seriously. I used to hear it all the time.

Anyway.

My vote vis a vis Gulf War 2 is for "Rock the Casbah."
