Despite all the controversy surrounding the increase in runs scored in the last decade, there aren't going to be any 50 home run hitters for the first time since '94('93 technically as 94 was a shortened year due to the strike).
But overall home runs and runs scored are up across the board, I've heard. So basically your #7-9 hitters, who nobody pays to see, have increased their home run output while guys like Sosa and Bonds, who draw big crowds, have gone down.
