"I don't know," he replied. "Am I my brother's keeper?"
10 The LORD said, "What have you done? Listen! Your brother's blood cries out to me from the ground. 11 Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand. 12 When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth."
13 Cain said to the LORD, "My punishment is more than I can bear. 14 Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me."
15 But the LORD said to him, "Not so; if anyone kills Cain, he will suffer vengeance seven times over." Then the LORD put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him. 16 So Cain went out from the LORD's presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

The hunt has taken three months. Were I to stop and inquire with the authorities, things might move more swiftly, but they would not cooperate. My mark frightens them. It is in a small church here that the disappeared were baptized. The twelve who held true to the Commandments.
There were snakes in the church. One bit me, trying to kill me. A moment later, all were engulfed in flame. Moreso than even Man, the serpant should stay aware from my family.

As stated in my pevious records, the Subject in question has no known records, and has once more gone missing from the Ben Gurian Institution here in Haifa. This worries me.
The Subject, despite my best effort continues to identify himsefl with the figure of Cain from Genesis, claiming a sort of immortality by divine mission. This mission worries me the most.
Contrary to his insistance, no where in the Torah do I find any indication that G-d would use Cain as a personal assassin for more than four thousand years. The Subject insists 'that the stain on soul as the first murderer means that a just kill is no longer a problem'. If the Subject is sneaking out to murder, then that is a problem.
The Subject claims the Voice of the Lord comes to him in dreams to send him on missions. This form of schizophrenia is dangerous, especially to the Subject himself. Alas, no matter how often we find the Subject cutting himself, there is no 'Mark' found on him.
Unfortunately, I've received word that two bodies -- serial killers both -- have been found in Moscow linked forensically to our man. It was during an escape last year I covered up to protect the Instituition's reputation. The Subject was gone a month than peacably returned saying nothing of his time outside. I suppose I will be brought up on charges.
This is swiftly becoming a suicide note, I suppose. I have to ask, is what the Subject says true? Have I caged Cain and slowed his mission from G-d? And if so, has that harm been visited on me and the Institution sevenfold? I will never know.

"Mr. Paul Gideon, you're the deceased's brother?" the police sergeant asked the bespectacled man before him.
"Doctor Gideon," he responded coldy, "and a more responsible psychiatrist than that idiot Philip. I helped found the Ben Gurian Institution. Now the fool has hung himself and burnt it down over an escaped schizophrenic. Liberal nonsense.
"We can try and find this 'Qayin' fellow if you'd like to press charges, Doctor," the policeman responded, "we may have to involve Interpol, and it would take time..."
"Forget it, this is Philip's mess -- I'm not my brother's keeper..."
