i want an arcade game. i always have. now, i've made my decision. i want the standup arcade classic "teenage mutant ninja turtles," but have NO idea where or even how the fuck to go about getting it.

do i buy it in pieces? fully assembled?

i dont mind a used version, as long as its in good working condition.

can anyone help a brotha out?

Go to any arcade in your area. The ones around here are usually sellin' old games. The owner or one of the workers should be able to direct you to somebody selling the one you want.

ill check further into that, bastie, thanks.

i did try a few places, tho. digitaldawg did too. i couldnt find any place with that game (im assuming to do its age). dawg found a place willing to sell it for $1500. i dunno what the fuck THAT was all about... its frickin 10-12 years old!! and its not exactly a collectors item...

anyway, the search continues. and, again, ANY help y'all can provide is much appreciated.

The board is the brain of the Game. If you get the board then all you would need is the stand up part, which shouldn't be to hard to get. Of course installing the board would be up to you, and of course the cosmetic differences to the "box", for lack of a better term. Example- you buy a pac-man stand up arcade game switch out the board then you can play "teenage mutant ninja turtles" in the Pac-Man box.

cosmetics arent necessarily a problem fer me. worst case scenario, i could just paint the frickin thing.

my concern comes down to cost. how MUCH does the "stand up" part cost (considering it'll have the big ass monitor, plus all the wires n'stuff).

and, also... do y'know if the installation is truly confusing?

To tell the truth I haven't a clue how to go about installing a board. But considering the age of the tech. involved I would think it wouldn't be to hard. Still your best bet would probably be to keep checking the online auction houses. Somthing is bound to turn up sooner or later. But try out the emulators in the meantime, that's how I got my ZooKeeper back after so many years.

and, while i think the price its at kicks ass... the $200 s/h fee might kill me.

ill keep my eye on it, mebbe it'll stay relatively low, and, ill grab it. either way tho, thanks fer lookin out!

i was actually putting a lot of consideration into this. like, the way it looks now, the bid is at @$300, with s/h about 200 (which is sick, but, hey...).

so, in total, i was lookin at @500, which isnt TOO bad. .... but then i found out that the leading bidder has his maximum bid at $800 bucks, meaning he's willing to drop a grand on it (and, if i wanted it, i'd havta bid more than that).

too rich for my blood. shame, tho. this is exactly what i was lookin for. so, a continued big thanks to bibbo for the keen eyesight (and just the fact that y'remembered dear old rob).

thanks, bro

Are diehards. Some own 15-20 arcade games, and devote entire sections of their homes toward storing them.

What was that home system you could plug old arcade boards into?
Was it the Neo Geo?

I seem to remember that it was like a home console, but instead of buying cartridges,or CDs,you bought the arcade board (like what was mentioned above) & plugged it in,just like an arcade machine!
There was even a company produced a games station that looked like an arcade machine, and you could put a tv & console in it,for a more authentic experience!

quite honestly, this is something i'll have to wait on, for at least a few more years.

"stand up arcade game" and "5th floor walk up apartment" aren't statements that go hand-in-hand, sadly.

one day, tho. one day.
