I just got offered by a hacker friend of mine to have a Mod Chip placed in my Playstation and PS2. Is this a yea or a nay thing?

i think this is overall a bad idea. i've had a guy continuosly tried to sell me a modded ps1 or 2, to play copied games(i'm assuming this is why this guys doing). the guy was saying it works fine, but half the time it wouldn't evan play the games. mod at your own risk.

it could work out real well, it could not.
a lot of my friends have done it and love the results, but its more than possible something'll get screwed up.
if you otherwise have access to a lot of japanese games or copied games, then maybe its worth it.

I do. The guy who offered has a massive collection of SNES/NES/PS and PS2 games not to mention tons of Japanese Imports that he somehow cracked and burned without the disks. He took me to his house and I personally went through his collection (Playing, watching him play, checking quality, etc, etc) and I was totally blown away. Everything was great--the quality was as great as an original copy. I moved on to DVD's and the same thing. This boy is a hacking Genious...but I did have some concerns about people wanting to sauder a damn chip to my motherboard. Believe it or not, it was my MOTHER thats encouraging me to do this! Who knows...maybe she's trying to get her hands on my system!

well, if y'trust the guy, then i say go fer it. its not gonna be the first time he's done sucha thing, plus you'll have access to his library.
