I'm still interested in Tabula Rasa, however, I admit I'm stumped. So, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in writing a new series...about bad people. That's the theme. A crime group. Doesn't have to be villians, just people who use illegal means to gain freedom and financial wealth.  I'd like people to spend a few days getting ideas and brainstorm for their characters and the sort of situations to write about, then we can unleash them. Seriously? I just want to do a fun little project, and I'm open to any and all suggestions. Except for ones that involve me in French Maid outfits. Playboy Bunny, maybe, but no French Maid. That it all.

I've got nothing to do right now, so I'm game.
I think it would be cool to do a story focusing on character and personality rather than superpowers or sci-fi tech. Our characters in such a story would be physically normal with no special powers. Their characterizations would be the main focus. What say you all?

I am very busy at the moment, else I would be posting in TR and MBL, but I could join later.
I would like to write something like TTT suggested, no superpowers or fictional tech, and I also like CJ's idea of bad guys as main characters.

The bad guys as main character thing is something I've been kicking around by myself for a while. They wouldn't be pure evil, more selfish and I think it fits in with what CJ wants.
I'm also for no superpowers or fictional tech, I've never been a fan of either.

Damn we're good! Grimm, I think it's dangerous having two Southerns posting this close together. Love the post, though for some reason, the house reminds me of a place I stayed at in Pigeon Fodge. Also, it helps when you have the soundtrack to 'Miami Vice' playing loudly. Puts you in the mood... Love the post, Knutreturns, but we have a sacrad policy concerning no signatures. Normally I have to give you fiftly lashes with a chain, but the rabbits have been sleeping on it, so all you get a rular slap in the nun costume. I'm still working out the details with my girl Vivian, but just as a suggestion for when anyone writes her -- she's not a physical character. I like the idea of her being the brains and paperwork type of criminal, not a gun for hire or a bounty hunter. Just a note before we advance too far.

didnt know bout the signature thing(although if i knew this was the punishment it might not have stoped me ) as far as the gun part, i wasn't thinnking gun for hire. I was just thinking criminal and then the whole "these are bad people thing" came to mind. But hey, imma rookie...

Oh no, my comments about Vivian weren't directed at you. I just wanted to throw some more thoughts out. I probably do that more than most people, because I think it's easier to say "don't do this with my character" than "hey, can you edit your post".
This is why we sometimes created a character bible, because it's full of stuff about characters to help the other writers. For example, I had this thing where I didn't want Lykopis to use any contractions, and we pretty much remember it 99% of the time (that other 1% was usually me...oops). But it was something I had to explain at the get-go, because yes, you could read my post and not see any contractions, but it's not something the average person picks up on.
Actually, when I read the part about her shooting and hitting the car, I laughed and thought it implied Vivian wasn't use to using force.

heh! it's actually based on the house I used to live in back in Mobile. I could've put more detail in, but I didn't want to overdo it.
I really like the interplay with Viv and Seth. I feel like I could write a lot with those two.

I thought it was cuz he had all those used condoms piled up in the corner. really good stuff here, kids. good intro from doc. excellent fleshing out from guywho'snotwedge and newtreturns, and a surprising and good post from that lady at the bar. (pssst! no sigs in story. ) it's coming along really well.

Thanks Ceej. I actually digged the interaction between Vivian and Seth - you and Grimm have clearly written together before and it shows. I've lurked here before, but never saw the start of a new thread til now.
