fo' real! above and beyond my comics and my paycheck.
...snif...
i've never gotten a corporate gift before.
anyway, they sent me a cool bag (the saddle bag or paper boy bag, however y'wanna call it. goes over one shoulder, cross the body.) its actually very frickin sweet, and doesnt have a huge DC comics "im a comic fag" logo on it, or anything. its black, with a navy blue stripe, and very subtly says "dc comics" in a cool (and tiny) font.
and, within the bag was a few select kick-ass books i've asked "santa" for, plus that dc comics collected CD-rom i've posted about here a few times before.
And OUR frigging "Christmas Party" is free dinner in the cafeteria...the clincher they serve it a ten oclock at night so the night shift can get some too!
My new job gives bonuses based on inventory shrinkage. Which is why I went in on my day off to help them get the counts straight. Store general managers get a bonus in the range of 5 to 10 thousand dollars based on store profitability...assuming zero shrinkage. It's not a Christmas bonus per se...they do it quarterly...but November and December count as one quarter.
As we are a brand new store, I'm not sure what to expect. Hell, I haven't even been named store manager yet and I'm not sure if I want the job if it's offered. It's cool though. The sales and assistant managers get a bonus of between 1000 and 5000 bucks. I'll take that. Free money is free money...assuming none of my staff steals or is stupid. I think I'm OK on the stealing part but, the stupid factor remains high.
I get longevity pay at the end of every November,70 bucks for every year Ive been there.Ive been there 9 years so thats good. Thats it though,no parties or anything.
woo! i also got a dc christmas card, signed by all the staff in my dept.
its a picture of the statue of liberty, birds eye view, with cops and firefighters minglin with a few select dc heroes, bats, supes, ww, and static shock -- the black guy.
i also received a contract extention in the mail
all official DC documents have a waterseal in them, of a few super heroes standing atop one anothers' shoulders, like a ladder.
typically, it was superman, batman, plastic man (i dunno), robin, flash, wondie, and icon -- the black guy. but, even there, icon has since been replaced with the static shock kid (from the cartoon) as the new black guy.
The signature says Terry Dodson, who is the Harley Quinn artist. Funny, at first glance I thought it was Adam Hughes, but Dodson draws in a style similar to Hughes. Very nice haul, Rob! And Merry Christmas to ya, by the way!

FICA?
I'm sure you wouldn't know what fica means in italian...
