Yes, I'm sure he has the right. But that doesn't mean he's actually going to make a good movie on that alone. Thank God for Speilberg and Irving Kushner or he would have destroyed his own franchises.

very good movie. a lot of fun. it was a bit jarring to see him in the 1950's fighting russians and the sci-fi elements, but ford still can pull off the role and it was nice to see karen allen and indy's son. it all worked.

Well, that's heartening, at least. I'm going to see it on Saturday. I'm not going in expecting it to be "Raiders"; I'm hoping for at least "Temple of Doom" level quality, though.

Indiana Jones appears to be a conservative, or at least a Republican. Three clues:
  • 1. He's a University of Chicago guy
    2. Calls Russians "Reds"
    3. Q: "Any last words, Dr. Jones?" A: "I like Ike."

1. He's a college professor, ergo he's probably a pinko.
2. But he's working with/for them in the movie. Kind of.
3. He's a decorated war veteran showing respect to his former commander, that doesn't mean he shares the same political views.

Specious reasoning, good sir.

Explain. I don't think Indy would describe himself as either a Republican or a Democrat. He's probably a libertarian (f' the big L Libertarians).

1) Liberal college professors didn't start infesting America till a little later in the century.

2) Under duress.

3) I sincerely doubt he was thinking about honoring Ike at that very moment. It sounded more like he was being prideful to spite her socialist ideals.

Trying to snatch the middle-ground with the "libertarian" card so as to de-polarize the situation is rather gay. There's simply more evidence that leads to one extreme over another. And your denial of that is hilarious.

Ad hominem abusive...nice logic tactic. Guess that means you win. Anyway, I really don't care what political party Indy happens to be a member of. I'll still go see the movie (produced and directed by Liberals, btw...not that that means Indy is a Dem, mind you or a Republican).

Hey! I liked A.I. Perhaps because I like robots and "serious" science fiction (the movie is based on a series of short stories by Brian W. Aldiss).

On that note, I'm really surprised they picked something as obscure as the crystal skulls. I figure they would have gone for El Dorado...But I suppose that's been getting too much publicity as a legend lately. I'm interested in seeing if they decide the crystal skulls were designed by Atlantians or Lemurians. Either way, it would probably piss off more than a few scientists since they don't want the exhibition of the Atlantus theory screwing up their well-established time line of human advancement.

wow, Pariah is trying to shit on a movie people are looking forward to before it even comes out by acting like an expert on the subject matter. Yeah, I saw the crystal skull episode of unsolved mysteries and stargate too.
and if you're not a fan of indiana jones or star wars why are you even talking about george lucas and the new indiana jones movie at all?

I....Didn't shit on the movie. I said I was surprised that they picked the relatively obscure Crystal Skull legends over the more exposed and well known El Dorado.

The legend of El Dorado is as much important as the skulls in the movie.

I'm not sure how a robot with mommy issues and an obsession with Pinocchio is "serious" science fiction.

How is that worse than a movie about a man who's hunted because people thinks he's an android sent by the alien enemy? With an atomic bomb in his stomach, too? (I liked that movie, BTW. It was based on a PKD short story and had Gary Sinise as the protagonist.)

You're assuming that I know what movie you're talking about and, further, that I would consider it "serious" science fiction if I did.

THe film is set in 1957, I seriously doubt he had any political views that could translate to today. Even if he were a republican then, it's nothing like being a republican now.

Indiana Jones is definately a liberal! I mean look at the evidence

His son, Shia labeof, with Marion Ravenwood, is a greaser

he's charged with being a commie by the HUA

And he did find the crystal skull at Roswell

Wow you guys are getting really pathetic, deleating my sig like that.
