I read the comic, and reviewed the facts. Jason Todd may still be alive, but HUSH, is in fact, TOMMY. Let us do the research.

Tommy always beat Bruce at those damn games by staying a few steps ahead of him. That makes him smarter than Bruce. Jason Todd has never been that smart. He is impulsive and wreckless. Maybe he has changed, but still not smart enough to outdo Bats.

As a doctor, Tommy could have access to Arkham Asylum. Keep in mind, it is a comic, so they aren't going to be picky over the fact he is a neurosurgeon rather than a psychiatrist. They will argue that he was one of the best damned doctors in the world, and could possibly come and go as he pleased.

By having himself killed with blanks, he removes himself as a suspect. Just as he could have coerced the naughties at Arkham to be his soldiers while acting behind the scenes.

It seemed fairly obvious he knew that Bruce was Batman through subtle references about how Bruce should take care of himself.

Why bring back Jason Todd? two theories. Batman is infected with a serum similar to Jon Crane's i.e. the Scarecrow. Remember when the Scarecrow wonders why Batman isn't effected? He was already infected. A doctor with good knowledge of chemicals could do that. Taking Batman to Jason's grave would have had psychological effects similar to what happens in crime alley.

But then again, maybe Jason IS alive. hence the use of the Lazarus pit. BUT someone had to take him there. Again, Tommy may have deduced the relationship between Bruce and his wards.

So now that we figured out how. What about why? Tommy might still be bitter about how Bruce's Dad failed to keep his parents alive, or more likely, it is a jealous frustration that he, as Bruce's Best friend, was not asked to join him in his crusade. A blow to the friendship.

Basically, too much time was spent in developing Tommy's history and mental state to simply let him get shot by blanks.

I just wish Tommy had been inserted into the storyline a few years ago...then this storyline would have been a major shocker!
