I was just sitting here thinking about how popular newpaper comic strips (ex. Peanuts, Calvin & Hobbes, Far Side, Dilbert ... ) are available in collected form and a thought occurred to me...

Are there collections of editorial/political newspaper cartoons available?

If there are, I'd imagine given the nature of editorial/political cartoons, that they'd either be available in artist-centric collections ("The Very Best of ______") or collections that are thematically linked ("Political Cartoons of the Reagan Era").

Certainly in England, those daily papers that have them publish the collected works of their main political cartoonists every so often

This Modern World, by Tom Tomorrow, is a great political comic strip. You can see collections of his available here:

I think some great collected editions of Herb Block political cartoons came out when he died recently. I've always loved his stuff, and he goes back before WWII. I think they were split via historical era. His Nixon era cartoons were amazing and they show up in textbooks all of the time.

This site has a good collection of editorial cartoons. Mark Evanier had a link to the 'Bob Hope' tribute pages over on his blog.
