I was just thumbing thru my stack of old SAD SACK comics, mostly from the late 60's-early 70's. Anybody remember these? Back in the days when I used to get a variety of comics (at random, at odd intervals, and usually with half or all of the covers missing-- they were only 10 cents apiece!) these were some of the funniest things I ever read.

Like the one where "Hi-Fi" shows off his radio-microphone & speaker by planting it inside a trashcan. When the Sarge (who kinda reminds me of Ed Asner) walks by, he yells insults, giving the impression someone's hiding inside the can. The Sarge begins KICKING it visciously, as the sounds of "OHh! OUCH! UHH!" can be heard from within. Just then the C.O. walks by...

"Sergeant-- WHY are you kicking that can?"
"It was being INSUBORDINATE, sir!"

The next panel, the Sarge is in the psychiatric wing under observation...

(Ah, yes-- why do so many fans think ONLY Marvel or DC were important to comics history?)

I loved all the Harvey Comics, but I think I liked Richie Rich the best.
