why would McCain who believes in a strong national defense go be sec of defense for a guy that wants to dismantle the army as we know it? cabinet posts are given to like minded people.
it'd be a "put up or shut up" moment for two people that claimed to continually want to work with the other side, and have decisions be communal between parties. both have stated that they have weaknesses and strengths, and would happily work with someone on "the other team" to iron out the best decision. campaign policies are not the same as term policies, and neither one could have gotten what they wanted, anyway.
again, it's clearly political fluff, as both individuals, and all politicians, worship the power of lie. however, if obama were to offer and mccain were to accept, it'd not only show they practice what they preach, but also form a stronger union between the two sides -- even if just for a political agenda and bonus free trips to camp david in the spring
Rob's kind of a Pollyanna sometimes.
