They are all cheerleaders for the left or right. There whole purpose is to spread the hate. They are the worst things on television.
Several I can think of offhand that don't pander solely to either the Left or Right include Glenn Beck, Lou Dobbs, and Pat Buchanan.
While Buchanan prior to 1992 was the quintessence of Reagan Republicanism and the Republican party, he has been an outsider for well over a decade. He is a conservative, but not a Republican. Read his book
Where the Right Went Wrong(2004), or his more recent
Day of Reckoning(2007).
Others in government that I trust include Republican Representative Vin Weber, and Democrat Senator from North Dakota Byron Dorgan, Exiting Republican Representative Tom Tancredo, and many others. Granted, they're not the majority in Washington, but I do think there are patriotic pundits and leaders, who either don't want greater power or higher office, or are leveraged aside by special interests.
