comicscontinuum.comReports out of England that George Clooney is in talks to play Reed Richards in the Fantastic Four movie are not true, Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige told The Continuum.
"We have not started casting yet," Feige told The Continuum.
Fantastic Four is set up at 20th Century Fox. Peyton Reed, whose credits include Bring It On, came aboard in April as writer/director.
"Peyton is working hard on the story," Feige said.
It's quite likely there will be a new Fantastic Four animated series to accompany the film, which is tentatively targeted for a 2003 release.
Clooney, who starred in 1997's Batman & Robin, has also been rumored to be returning for the next Batman live-action film, but Warner Bros. has not given a clear indication where it is taking the Batman franchise.
On Wednesday, Variety reported that Warner Bros. is looking to develop a movie that would team Batman and Superman. The script is being written by Andrew Kevin Walker, who is also writing a Silver Surfer script, with Wolfgang Petersen attached to direct.
Petersen directed Clooney in last year's The Perfect Storm. He has also been attached as a producer to the Whiteout movie, based on the comic book by Greg Rucka and Steve Lieber.
