it's been good this season. losing the cast (and conceivably the series after the season) has actually helped force them into bigger and more dramatic story lines.

Yeah, that was a major WTF moment at the end. Was I the only one creeped out by Chloe smiling at Doomsday (that really is a bad name)? I hope that isn't a sign of bad things to come to Chloe. Lana's return was handled well. She really seems more grown up. If she reverts back to being a tart I'll be upset. Next episode is the Legion!

typically, there are at least 3 episodes every season that are great -- they tend to be the first, last, and winter-break episodes. its very likely you could just watch those three every season and think the show was fantastic.

Smallville returned this week with a solid episode directed by Geoff Johns. I was surprised with the special effects. I expected more of a throwdown with the Persuader, but the Legion was handled pretty well.

This week's episode had J'onn get shot, Clark going undercover, and GA (Green Arrow) doing some stuff. Dan Turpin made his debut and Lex's project was revealed to be his battle armor. Oh, and Tess is hot.

season started up again this past week.
spoilers!
...and... more spoilers!
starting off, clark went to work, told lois his secret, and then went public to the world. i guess it was sortuva "watchmen / real world / government / paparazzi" relation. ...thing? everyone started to hate him and the government wanted to control him, etc. it played out like an elseworlds story, mostly -- one where you kept waiting for the scene where he woke up from a dream and then winked at the camera and then flew around the earth. ... or something.
but then, it turned out he had a time-travel ring from his time-travel legion pals that he used to undo everything, so that no one knew his secret. and then he destroyed the ring cuz with great time power comes great time responsibility. cheapout, but no different than the expected dream sequence.
there was more doomsday-related stuff, too, which was fun.
also seemed to start pushing the secret identity issue, with a clark/superman dichotomy. ...oh, and for at least a few moments, it looked like clark murdered someone, which was of course way outta character (but it as tori spelling who "died", so i didn't mind)
