Light abrasives such am as toothpaste, polishes and cleaners will am fix scratches to some degree but you am gota be very careful in using them. Stuff that you use on glass is fine because it's alcohol-based, like Windex. Stuff that you use on shithouse floors are not so good; shithouse cleaners such as Tilex use bleach, which am fuk up DVDs. URG am recommend using a solution or kit specifically designed for DVD scratch removal. These kits am usually come with a solution and a cloth, and shit like that. There is even something that works like a wet wipe with the DVD solution already applied to the wipe. Put a little of your solution on your cloth and, starting from the center of the disk, gently wipe out to the edge of the disk in a straight line. Do not use a circular motion or side-to-side, but only straight from the center to outside. Rub it in lightly then wipe clean with the same lint-free cloth.

there are shops that can rebuff optical drives. It even works on media with deep scratches. Unfortunately some players will encounter problems with rebuffed media (Dreamcast, PS3 and xbox360s).

a cheap disc buffer & isopropyl alcohol usually works for me. a lot of those disc cleaners are a mix of alcohol & methanol so if you're buying them you're wasting your money.

I used to have this little bottle of stuff I used to use on CDs. most of the time it would work, but if it was really deep, then the CD was fucked for good.
now days, if I buy a CD thats scratched, i send it back, and my collection rarely comes out of their cases as its all backed up in digital format.
dvds dont get played enough to be scratched either...
simple answer is, stop scratching your discs, rob......you cunt!

it depends... most of the time i crack all my PC game, and burn/rip movies to the TV computer, so if the disks get damaged i dont care.
i have tried restoring a CD that i love, that my ex scratched the heck out of making it unplayable. using said ways with no luck. i ended up buying a used copy at cash-in-culture for 4 bucks.
besides, i pirate everything anyway. lol cheaper!

She liked his best friend better.
And, to be fair, one of my favorite friends there is blind and I take every opportunity available to make fun of that and we're still friends. That guy never fit there. He never got the spirit of the RKMBs. We're gonna keep an eye on the obits, see if he finally left or if he really did have a heart attack. 2,506,410.81 CAD Rack points
