I thought Morrison was just doing what Dildio instructed and was pretty pissed about having to change things from what they originally agreed!

I've not really enjoyed Final Crisis but it's been a hell of a lot better then Ultimates 3 and Ultimatum.

Grant Morrison likes to use obscure characters and can write a pretty good twist or two.


Loeb thinks up great ideas then fails horribly with the execution. He also rapes babies and voted for obama.

Exactly what "great ideas" has Loeb come up with? Seriously.

He's had a couple of good stories amidst the suckage (ex: Batman Halloween stuff, SFAS) but none of them are particularly original and, in fact, are basically retellings of stories told already.

I enjoyed his early stuff like Long Halloween and even things as recent as Hush (even though that story fell flat). But those were also things I read when I first got back into comics. there's is no excuse for the eye raping comics he's writing now but at one time his stuff was enjoyable.

Yeah, some of his early stories were enjoyable. I just question whether you can attribute the "great ideas" in them to him.

The Long Halloween was equal parts of "Year One" and the "Godfather," with dashes of other, earlier, bat stories thrown in (primarily Harvey's story) and even a dash of "Silence of the Lambs" (Calendar Man). Entertaining, but hardly anything in there can be considered a Loeb "idea."

Same thing with "Superman for All Seasons." It was basically "Man of Steel meets It's a Wonderful Life."

If Hush would have been done properly I think it would have made some good changes in the batman books. Unfortunately Loeb and others have ruined whatever promise it had.

Big "if." It wasn't. All Loeb did was rip off his own Long Halloween. He also admitted from the start that all he cared about in writing the story was giving Lee a chance to draw as many DCU characters as possible.

I get this impression from his Hulk run - McGuinness, Cho & Adams have drawn what they want and Loeb has to fit a story around it.

I think Loeb has really benefited from working with hot artists.

Having said that, who can forget Heroes Reborn Captain America!

I think at Loebs best, he is an average writer who for some reason became hot.

The Marvel color books are pleasant but by no means classics!
