Exactly. A contract is supposed to be binding on both parties, not something that one party (in this case the bank) can change whenever they feel like it.


But isn't this true of any company?

A lack of honesty in the midst of competition is what makes companies fail in the first place; people go to more honest organizations while the dishonest ones suffer. That's what gives them incentive to be honest without government retardation.
