The exchanges can often be funny. And I think all of us at times can either roll with the punches as you say, or take things too seriously, and open ourselves up for ridicule.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see where Snarf has committed any major sins of self-pity. I've seen him be as self-deprecating as he has been arguably self-pitying.
For the most part, everyone here has been harassed at one point or another (or an alternate way to looked at it, everyone has been teased, played with and tested.) Sometimes it's hard to tell whether it's banter, or a serious answer is truly expected.

You'd probably identify with our point of view moreso if you look at this situation like you view topics about political correctness (I'm assuming you think it's crap). While you realize that 95% of the conversations here revolve around insults, you still expect there to be a gray area where people at least quietly acknowledge that some things should be considered sacred here like, say, going easy on Snarf who's basically the RKMBs whipping boy. It doesn't do you any good to think that way.
