I've tried to bring it up in the Politics forum before and got called ...what's reax's term? Obamanazi?

...until you graciously made me a big ole thread with links to ALL of them, in which place I stickied THAT, said thanks, and removed the others. There were a shitload of candidates and I tried to keep a thread on the "bigger runners" in the pre-pre-election. Yeah, and (to be fair) you were gracious about my point (or as gracious as hermaphrodite nazi can be). At the same time, however (as the BSAMS/Promod dustup demonstrated) having the mods sticky or unsticky each others' threads doesn't solve the problem either. I still tend to think that the solution for the politics forum is no mod at all. It seems like no matter who's the mod someone claims there's a bias there.

Well, now that is just getting childish and petty again. My sisters and I used to do that kinda stuff when K wanted to listen to country and L wanted to listen to pop on the radio. When I was 5-8 (then L and I were fighting over the music and we broke the stereo door). Worry not, children often are capable of growing up and reaching compromises. I think the politics forum benefits from a couple very chill moderators. Nobody to push their own agenda, nobody to ignore what the majority is interested in, but also not someone that wants to be in there moving shit every day. Someone that will introduce new avenues of discussion from time to time. Someone that knows how to let the forum flow under its own power and only step in when helpful or needed. I thought I was well on the way to reaching something like that when Rob de-modded me. It was a work in progress, yeah, but I was working on it. And he took it away even though I never violated the unwritten assumed contract of modship in that forum. I still tend to think that the solution for the politics forum is no mod at all. It seems like no matter who's the mod someone claims there's a bias there. I mentioned my thoughts above, but I figured I may as well leave the rest of your post quoted.

Now there are a shitload of stickied (and not always all that active) threads and about all of them are anti-Obama is some way. The only one that isn't is a thread that has a funny joke-article in it. the political forum is sorta like the comic book forum for adults. ...or vice versa. its a lot of land-locked opinions, and then others trying to make you believe the opposite; theirs. nothing is gonna budge, you already either like spiderman or think he's dog poop. it's often too "loud" in there for me, but others are having fun with it, so it's fine with me. whomod "ruled" before, but the opposing view kept visiting. now gman/bsams "rule", but the opposition keeps visiting. clearly, certain folks dig it in there. have at it!
