Around Christmas I left California, got on a train and took it cross country to NY. Before I left I got rid of everything I owned, downloaded my favorite comics to a new laptop, bought some new clothes and fit everything into a single suitcase.
I had a rough winter being unable to get a proper job at first due to the assbackwards NY DMV "point system." I did a few months at a place called Pop Burger which is at 58th and Madison near the Plaza hotel. It was a shit job but it kept me going until I could get my ID sorted out and then find a proper job. I now work near Ground Zero, making a decent wage for the work I do. Though SF with all their unions and pro-labor government got me $3.50 more per hour for the same work.

NY is ok. I'm really here to get my feet wet actingwise before heading to LA in a year or so. I made the choice to come here after reading that NY is tougher but once you've "made it" you have a real foundation while LA is easy to get something but it's often hollow.

To answer the obvious questions:
Q1: Surely you can't be serious.
A1: I am serious and don't call me Shirley.
Q2: Have you seen Rob?
A2: No. But I'm of average stature and he could be below my field of vision.
Q3: Why did you stop posting here?
A3: A lot of the blah blah of internet exchanges bugged me. There's no substance to most of it, just bitching. I never felt like we had real political discussions, just back and forth complicated ways of saying fuck you.
Q4: What did you think of Planet of the Dead?
A4: Hated it. But let's not talk about that here. It would be off topic (and offensive).
Q5: Will you rejoin the political threads?
A5: If I did that then I would be as a guilty as those who caused (past tense) the extinction of the whales in the first place (Spock, Star Trek IV).
