He completely killed my interest for anything he does with this one. What a chode.
this is the worst possible scenario for SBP. He's returned home as he wanted, but things are no longer the same. Far from it in fact. And he has no powers plus he reads about the further adventures of Conner as Superboy when SBP fully believes HE is the one, true Superboy. He's gone from one of the most powerful forces in the universe to a bratty teenage who sits in his basement and frequents message boards. This is a living hell for him and a much more original solution. It's better than chaining him to the wall of the Source or having him kill himself on the moon with a Kree ray gun or getting blasted by Omega Beams or even having Bullseye ram a sai thru him.
This is the kind of solution, IMO, that Alan Moore or Grant Morrison would come up with. And, IMO, its pretty permanent. The more SBP reads of the stories in the DCU since his departure the more nuts he'll get because he isn't a stable person and he obsseses about all things Superboy. I just hope that every so often we can get a shot of him tearing up an issue of Adventure Comics or pounding away on a keyboard. Or better yet, having his dad pull a Red Forman and threaten to put a foot up his..well, you know.
You mean, like Barry Allen's death was permanent? Or the death of Jason Todd? Or Conner Kent? Or the end of the original Crisis miniseries?
This is a shitty comic, plain and simple, full of bad dialogue and a ridiculous ending. The only way it could've been worse is if Johns had cast him as an Iconolast: He raids Earth 1, gets chased off to Earth Prime (crying like a little bitch all the while), then a few of the Earth 1 heroes go to Earth Prime which causes him to run crying into the Bleed.
Of course, at the end of this series, Superboy Prime declares that he's done with Earth 1 and will never return, only to come back every few issues to declare his passive aggressive love for Conner Kent.
