you seriously haven't heard him constantly bring every one of his points back to 9/11? or heard him talk about how he has proven himself on 9/11? or him say that he knows more about terrorism than ron paul who was quoting cia experts because he was there on 9/11?
and did you not hear how he bungled a lot on 9/11? or how he was safe in his bunker? or how because of his penny pinching mayoral term the fire fighters lacked the proper radios and many died unecessarily.

just because bush was president that day does not mean we have to agree with him. it's cheap tactics that use the death of thousands as some sort of political leverage.

As noted before, people like Ray think that it's fine to talk about a politician's response to 9/11 if they are attacking that politician. But as soon as a politician defends his actions on that date he's 'exploiting' the event.

so G-man now twists things to avoid the real point and turns this into an attack on me.
It is one thing to respond to criticism, it is one thing to mention your own positive actions. It is a whole other thing to constantly reference a major event and use it as leverage. Rudy constantly referenced 9/11, he constantly used it to act as an expert, he constantly constantly constantly used it whenever he needed to make some point or bolster himself. Much like bush using 9/11 to justify a war against people who had nothing to do with 9/11.

And if you listen to the firefighters, they don't think he did a good job with it. in fact he made a lot of fuck ups that cost lives due to his "leadership." but like bush because he gave some speech while standing atop rubble he is considered a "leader."

Ray, is it really your position that someone can only mention something they accomplished in response to criticism from others?

By that argument, no politician (hell, no job candidate whatsoever) can tell people why they want the job. No politician can run a positive campaign about their own accomplishments. They can only run negative attacks (or, perhaps, a campaign of vague homilies about "hope and change").

While I realize that Rudy's longtime political foes in the fireman's union tried to use 9/11 to continue their attacks on him, others believed that he did an excellent job restoring services to the city quickly after the terrorist strike. That showed leadership and executive competence. Of course, Rudy is going to say that his successful performance in a major crisis is a qualification when seeking higher office. Anyone would.

It is, of course, your right to disagree about the quality of his performance in regards to 9/11. However, the idea that Rudy should be silent unless and until his enemies deign to attack him is both absurd and chilling.

It's funny the same rational that we used to defend Rudy and his bad relationship with his kids and ex wives is the same rational that MEM Promod and other libs used to defend Obamas questionable relationships. the only difference is that Rudy's stuff was personal and had no bearing on how he would govern as President and Obamas relationships showed him to be an angry black radical possible muslim america hater. Yeah I guess that's no different.

Yeah, because you have the exact same level of control over your family as you do over people you choose as friends.

RUDY GIULIANI STANDS UP TO CRAZED ATTACKER ON HAMPTONS STROLL
  • Rudy and Judi Giuliani were accosted today in the Hamptons by an angry man who threatened to "punch out" the former mayor, witnesses told The Post.

Patrons sitting outside The Golden Pear bakery in downtown Bridgehampton around 2 p.m. said a "slim, well-dressed man in his fifties" came charging out of nowhere and began screaming at the happy couple as they left a nearby art fair.

"I'm gonna punch your lights out," the wacko repeatedly yelled at Giuliani, witnesses said. Rudy and Judi appeared startled and then agitated by the man's aggressive behavior.

At one point the man started jabbing the former mayor in the chest, said Mark Borghi, owner of an art gallery on Bridgehampton's Main Street.

"Alright, do it then!" Borghi heard the Brooklyn native Giuliani yell to his tormentor.

The whole altercation was over in a matter of seconds when the couple managed to give the ranting man, who kept screaming at them from the sidewalk, the slip.

Judi was heard on her cell phone ordering their driver to come pick them up and call the police.

Cops arrived within minutes, and the Giulianis ducked into a nearby drugstore while their driver talked to Southampton Town Police.

The man was eventually cuffed and taken away, but not before he inexplicably rushed inside a coffee shop to empty his pockets of all their contents, said Golden Pear employee Martin Schwenk.

Rudy and Judi were spotted about an hour later at the Southampton Police Station. It's not known if they decided to press charges.

I can understand you getting all emotional about Rudy but seriously I was just asking a question. Rudy does do drag sometimes when he performs on a show so I was just curious if that was the case for the video basams put up.

Your description didn't answer the question though. Can you at least comment if he had a purse and if so how expensive it was since that type of thing seems to catch your attention ;\)

The way that MEM obsessively defends, and in fact ties his own self worth, to Franken made me wonder if Franken, like MEM, isn't a homosexual. But then I remembered that MEM hates other gays and realized that can't be the case.

Considering that one of my most recent posts concerning Franken opinioned that he should have been more polite your "obsessively defends" logic doesn't apply to me. Now if we examine your behavior using your own reasoning as it pertains to Rudy (your hissy fit that you've just thrown here for example) then I must conclude...

If he can get New York going after 9/11 I'm sure he can get America back on track after the obama presidency.

In fact, if you know anything about the Dinkins administration the comparison is even more apt.
