I don't think you can really compare this to Captain America Reborn. Mainly because Batman was "killed" by Darkseid's omega beams which are well established to have a billion little loopholes whereas Steve Rogers was shot by a bullet and clearly died. Also I think they pretty much were straightforward with his fate from the beginning even having Red Robin focus on him being "out there."
