I hear ya P, but I hear it isn't all that accurate. I hear they always blow that shit up with the robots. Nobody gets that close to the bomb.
Still, a soldiers job is dangerous. In Iraq it has to be fucked up that most of the time you can't tell an enemy combatant from a civilian.
Alot of my respect for soldiers comes from a former manager of mine.
He was the same age as me, but he was a Marine for ten years. They forced him to retire because he had injuries, while not life threatening ended his career. Otherwise he would have been a lifer. He went into Iraq in the first wave.
He did resupply runs to people in the shit.
Talked about having to drive around with mortars flying over his head.
You could tell if you spent enough time with him that he was having trouble dealing with coming back home to civilian life.
He wasn't some gung-Ho, jock mentality, meathead eaither. He was just a normal dude who loved being a Marine.
