It just annoyed me that so much of the key stuff ended up as off camera. Brolin went through hell and back, and ends up with an almost throw away ending.
With McDonald, I just hated the ambiguity of it. Yeah, it seemed like he killed her, but you never know for sure.
I dont really see what the car crash would have to do with the coat and beer.
I also wasnt overly impressed with the way it played out with Tommy Lee Jones either.
The film was going great guns, setting up for what seemed like a big finale, and just seemed to end with little or no pay off.
While it was great to not have a cliched 'good guy' style ending, I do think it could have been a lot more clear, rather than the damp squib ending that we got.
