Whether you, personally, like his products or not, me made his money by creating things that many people found enjoyable and useful.
Yes, he created a lot neato entertainment gadgets. His company created everything else of any actual importance. Besides that, what level of importance should I give to his passing? 70k other people died today, too. Why aren't we mourning them the same?
He wasn't an investment banker or the usual occupation you rail against.
I'm not railing against him. I'm railing against the ridiculous overly dramatic sainthood people on Twitter are going on about. Like I said before, I don't remember him being some great humanitarian whose purpose was to "improve humanity". He was a guy that got rich off being a good salesman, and then famous off the back of his Apple engineers. Like I said before, Rest In Peace fellow human. But, you know....big deal.
