when fictional people intrigue you more than real people.

I'm reading an old Earth-2 story from the 70s. Robin, Power Girl, and Star Spangled Kid help the JSA through many predicaments, yet are consistently being treated like 'a bunch of kids' or whatever. Worst one is probably Wildcat, who so maturely punches and breaks a television when it stops working during a game, and pages later tells the newcomers that they could learn a lot from the pros and are still wet behind the ears, and Power Girl's like "You're welcome for closing up the earthquake and putting out the volcano, jerkface." No, she didn't say that word for word but its close.

It's sick because i'm reading this during breaks at a workplace where much of the same crap is happening, where you can't respect your superiors because you don't have too many to work with.

They just don't write them like this anymore.

There is no version of this where you come out on top. Maybe your army comes, and maybe it’s too much for us, but it’s all on you. Because if we can’t protect the Earth, you can be damn well sure we’ll avenge it.

Boy, you could get lost in a sky like that. I wish I had those balloons again.
