i still love the idea of a star wars 7-9, featuring the original cast 30 years later. its the characters people care the most about, by default, plus new adventures!
as to the direction... meh. i think anything lucas does gets fanboy shit upon, regardless. disney will leave a negative taint on it, if the internet deems it so. avengers was pretty meh, considering "it has to be awesome because iron man is fighting thor" aspects. neither marvel nor disney (nor lucas) could step on that level of fun.
this just seems fun to me, because disney is AMAZING at franchising. star wars stuff is already featured all over the disney theme parks, but now it can be everywhere! spierman can fight bobafett while goofy... i dunno... falls or something. that's fun! ...right?
