Astro City just came out last week under the Vertigo imprint and Fsbles is always top notch.

Fables is a bit monolithic. I don't know where to start and I don't want to invest in a series of that enormity if I don't like it. Plus, I bought the first TPB years ago, and was not very impresed. More recently I bought the spin-off with Aladdin, the Ice Queen and Sleeping Beauty. Meh.
I'll have a look at those Valiant titles.
