Few people know that Neil is actually a Moro fisherman, and has spent so much time in his canoe that his legs have withered. For his birthday his family killed a giant pig with toxin-tipped arrows which they fired from their bows, just as thier ancestors have done for generations. The pig had a candle in one nostril, which Neil blew out.
