I think it's just good old humans screwing up the planet.
I'd agree, that's most of it. Although much of what the Left calls "global warming" is just the earth naturally going through fluctuations in temperature. There have been fluctuations between ice ages and hot ages as long as there's been a planet earth.
The thought of aliens entering the mix is a fun little diversion, though.
