I'd suggest Michael Kaluta as a possible replacement for Wrightson, given their close association, and Kaluta having actually done ghost art for Wrightson in HOUSE OF SECRETS 92, and in SWAMP THING 9. Kaluta was actually the photo-reference for the villain in HOS 92! (Louise Jones, now Louise Simonson, was the photo-reference for the girl in the story, and
the cover image for HOS 92).
But I think that was an impossibility given that Kaluta had just been fired from THE SHADOW series, due to his being super late turning in every issue he did. As I recall, it was Dennis O'Neil who pushed to have him fired.
But you can see a sample of Kaluta's interpretation of Swamp Thing, on his cover for
BRAVE & THE BOLD 176, in 1980.
