The first one I read myself: Daughter of the Demon. Talk about a perfect introduction to Batman comics: O'Neil, Adams, a retelling of the origin and Ras AL Ghul! As for what made me a lifetime fan: The Adam West show. If it hadn't been for that I wouldn't have ever read the comics.
