I thought the best of the MAN-THING artists (at least in the 1970's era) was Michael Ploog, who drew MAN-THING 5-11, and GIANT SIZE MAN-THING 1 (a total of 8 issues, all in 1974).
A cool idea I had was that Wrightson could have drawn one issue of MAN-THING, and Ploog could have drawn one issue of SWAMP THING.
The closest to that is when Wrightson drew a 1976 cover for INCREDIBLE HULK 197 that could have doubled as a MAN-THING cover.
Half my dream realized.
Wrightson made the crossover, Ploog did not.
