Respected musicians who were actually terrible people
I think that's a bit overstated. Maybe better to say "respected musicians who had some ugly moments".
And I'm surprised not to see Jerry Lee Lewis listed in there. Among many others.
In Cash's defense, he's far from the only celebrity to step out on his wife with a lot of women. I read the same of John Lennon with his first wife. Likewise Clint Eastwood. It must be difficult when you're a famous celebrity, frequently away from home and surrounded by hundreds of gorgeous women who are humping your leg to have sex with them because you're famous.
There's a level of temptation available to celebrities that the average person doesn't have.
