My favorite role I've seen her in is this one-hour Twilight Zone episode, "Of Late I think of Cliffordville". Where she plays a super-sexy incarnation of the devil, tempting a wealthy bunsinessman into re-living his past.
Actor Albet Salmi shown here also stars in the 1958 movie version of The Brothers Kamarazov, that was William Shatner's first movie role, at age 27. Some clever and funny dialogue, she was perfect for the role, taunting, playful and seductive.
A rare assembly of the three Catwomen from the 60's Batman series (Eartha Kitt by phone) with Adam West joining in.
Would that Burt Ward could have been part of the event. This was a few years before Ward did his autobiography My Life In Tights. I recall a hilarious interview with Ward on the radio telling behind the scenes stories about the series.
And once again, Julie Newmar in 1992 here (at this point 59 years old) still looks smokin' hot.
Surprising insight into both the Batman TV series and Julie Newmar's role in it, and the history of Catwoman in the Batman comics from BATMAN issue 1 forward, beginning in 1940.
A sampling of Newmar's guest appearances across episodes of multiple series, including Twilight Zone, The Monkees, Batman, Star Trek, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, and Love boat.
NEW YORK (CBS/KCAL) Every villain knows you don't mess with Catwoman. A burglar who allegedly stole $25,000 worth of jewelry from famed "Catwoman" actress Julie Newmar found out the hard way. Robert Ouriel, 48, of West Los Angeles, was charged with grand theft and scheduled to be arraigned Thursday. Police say Ouriel, an aquaintance of Newmar's, tried to sell the stolen gems on the online auction site, eBay.
Newmar, who is best known for her role as Catwoman in the original "Batman" television series, noticed several items missing from her West Los Angeles home between Oct. 25 and Nov. 3, 2008, according to the District Attorney's Office.
Newmar later spotted three of the items for sale on eBay. Prosecutors claim Ouriel shipped the stolen items to an Illinois pawnbroker, who later posted them on the Web site. Ouriel was arrested Nov. 19 and released on $50,000 bail. If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A man accused of stealing jewelry from Julie Newmar has pleaded no contest to grand theft.
Robert Ouriel entered the plea Tuesday in Los Angeles and was sentenced to three years probation and 45 days of community service.
The actress spotted the stolen jewelry for sale on eBay and estimated it was worth $150,000.
Ouriel's attorney Jeffrey Rubenstein says his client took the plea bargain so he could move on with his life. A restitution hearing is scheduled for Sept. 14.
Some days urg makes me proud to be his friend. Then there are the days that he steals my beer and fucks my woman. Somedays he gets that backwards.-Lothar
"Those were good days. Sitting around the campfires, eating dinosaur meat, and clubbing our wimmens in the head. I dream of those days sometimes. When Urg would make speeches and lead us to victory over the neighboring tribes. Good days, man. Good days." -Grimm
But man... she was an absolute goddess for many years beyond what should have been the outer-most limit of her prime. Born in 1933, she'll be turning 90 soon. I haven't seen any recent pics. I've cited many of my favorites of her TV appearances.
One I didn't mention was a two-part Buck Rogers in the 25th century episode (age 46 at the time). Although I did post a set of clips above that showed her in that appearance, along with several other TV guest-star appearances.
Here's a click-bait article I ran across that has photos and discussion of a lot of the sexiest actresses of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, and they have Julie Newmar listed pretty far down into the article.
Some others in the piece I'd forgotten:
Judy Landers, Sally Field, Charo (not mentioned, sisters Zsa Zsa Gabor and Eva Gabor), Wanda Ventham (and many others on the Gerry Anderson UFO tv series), model and sometimes actress Susan Anton, Linda Harrisan ("Nova", from the first two Planet of the Apes movies), Michele Carey, Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith (an under-rated super hottie !) , Suzanne Somers, Heather Locklear, Loni Anderson, Linda Gray, Adrienne Barbeau (I think I first saw her on the Maude tv series), Angie Dickinson (a k a, Police Woman, and also gorgeous in many other roles, before and after) , several babes from Star Trek (many others of my favorites not listed), Lynda Carter (not mentioned: Carter was also in a 1990's series Hawkeye I liked, based on the characters in the movie Last of the Mohicans ) , the gorgeous women on Benny Hill. And Catherine Bach, the incredible tushied Daisy Dukes, on Dukes of Hazzard.
All memorable and sexy in their own way.
Racquel Welch, in a particularly nice photo :
Long as this photo collection is, it still skipped over many other favorites of mine from that era. Jane Seymour, Pam Dawber, and Caroline Munro, to name just three more favorites I recall offhand.
In any case, at least they gave Julie Newmar some deserved honorable mention, among other worthy beautiful girls I haven't seen in a long time.
