This is more about the nation of Russia and the mindset of its people. With beautiful aerial footage and statistics of its largest cities, and a closer view of the streets of these Russian cities, and of its citizens (some of them quite foxy!) It gives some perspective of the mindset of Russian people, how they've been invaded repeatedly over the centuries, and despite great hardships and persecution even by their own government, are fiercely patriotic.
Their media convinces them that the U.S. is surrounding and increasing an ever tighter noose around Russia (especially expanding NATO, and the EU. And the U.S. moving military forces into former Soviet states, right on Moscow's doorstep.) And it's a valid argument, that it is threatening to expand so deep into their former territory, what Russians term "the near abroad".
What strikes me most in this beautiful footage of Russia is these cities pretty much look like cities you'd expect to see in the midwest or elsewhere in the United States. I meet many Russians here in Florida. For several years I had an employer who was Russian. If trust could be established and maintained between the U.S. and Russia, our nations have a lot of similarities and common interests.
